The article officially had Serena Williams too,but her withdrawal today forced us to leave it with Maria and Simona only. Hope you enjoy it!Dont forget to give your opinion about Nora's analysis.

THE FANTASTIC EIGHT
A detailed preview of Singapore a few weeks before its start. Players' profiles, key statistics and all the things you should know about the most important rendez-vous of the WTA for this season

PART A

X-RAY

1.Simona Halep;Nickname:The next big thing of world tennis.
Simona Halep after winning IW getting 1000
ranking points
After winning Dubai,securing 900 points

Profile:The young Romanian was the second tennis player who managed to be safely through Singapore(the first one was Serena Williams, who withdraw). This year she wasn't as astonishing as in 2014, but in the end she did the job and now all tennis fans are looking forward to seeing how she will do in the World Championships. When it comes to the Majors she lost to Makarova in the Australian Open quarter-final and to Lucic-Baroni in the 2nd round of Roland Garros. In Wimbledon she suffered a resounding defeat in the 1st round of the tournament, while in the US Open it was Pennetta that knocked her out in the semis. If she wants to be crowned world champion for the very first time in her career, she will have to make a performance equal to this of 2014 RG Final.

2.Maria Sharapova:Nickname:The enigmatic

Masha with the R-Up trophy in the Aus Open
securing 1300 points
Maria after winning Rome and getting 900 points

Profile:The legendary Russian is also already in Singapore, ranked as 3rd for the time being(2nd considering Serena's withdrawal). This season started ideally for her, as she managed to reach the Australian Open final(but not to conquer the trophy, too). In Paris, the illness from which she suffered back then kept her away from defending the title. When it comes to Wimbledon, <<Masha>> was defeated by S.Williams in the semi-finals. She didn't participate in the US Open due to leg injury . We can't be sure whether she will be doing well or not in this year's World Championship, as the way in which tennis athletes react after being a long time away from courts varies from player to player. The only thing we can tell for sure is that she will have to work extremely hard,if she wants to be successful

P.S.:If you want to read the Serena part, comment or tweet me!
